Seiko A904A – Technical Guide
The Seiko A904A is a vintage digital quartz LCD movement produced in the mid-1980s, developed for slim, rectangular Seiko digital watches. It’s part of Seiko’s prolific range of everyday-use digital modules, known for simplicity, reliability, and low-profile styling. While not as complex as Seiko’s schedule or world-time movements, the A904A focuses on essential digital features in a compact and durable form—ideal for business, casual, or minimalist wear.
The A904A is a digital-only quartz movement with all the core functions needed in a daily-use digital watch. It combines efficiency with ease of operation, prioritizing legibility and long battery life.

Service Tips:
Use a CR2016 battery
After battery change, perform an AC reset by bridging the AC pad to the battery (+) using non-metallic tweezers if the display is unresponsive
Replace gaskets to retain water resistance
Avoid pressure on the LCD and exposure to magnetism
Backlight (LED or bulb) may fade with time; not typically user-replaceable
