The Seiko S600A is a specialized analog-digital quartz movement developed for watches that combine traditional timekeeping with high-precision, multifunctional digital features. As part of Seiko’s advanced S-series hybrid calibers, the S600A is frequently found in technical, sports, and pilot-inspired watches—providing a robust set of timing tools, all integrated into a compact and reliable package.
This movement is ideal for users who need dual timekeeping, stopwatch functions, alarms, and calendar features, while maintaining the instant legibility of analog hands. Known for its power efficiency, durability, and accuracy, the S600A is engineered for real-world use across demanding environments.
The S600A movement reflects Seiko’s commitment to functional hybrid watchmaking. It builds on the successes of predecessors such as the S351A and S240A, adding enhanced button responsiveness, a crisper LCD layout, and improved analog/digital integration.
Unlike many generic ana-digi modules, the S600A prioritizes readability and performance, particularly in watches designed for active users like divers, aviators, outdoor professionals, and global travelers.
Analog Time Display: Traditional hour and minute hands.
Digital LCD Display: Displays auxiliary functions and settings.
Chronograph: Stopwatch measures up to 100 minutes in 1/100-second increments.
Countdown Timer: Adjustable timer function with audible alert.
Dual Time Function: Second time zone displayed digitally.
Daily Alarm: One programmable alarm with tone.
Full Auto Calendar: Pre-programmed up to the year 2049 or later.
12/24-Hour Display: Toggle between standard and military time.
Electro-Luminescent (EL) Backlight: Provides digital screen visibility in the dark.
Battery End-of-Life (EOL) Warning: LCD may flash or dim as battery voltage drops.
This movement is best used in tool watches, where its multi-functionality can be leveraged without compromising durability or readability.
Caliber: Seiko S600A
Movement Type: Quartz (analog-digital hybrid)
Battery Type: SR927W (1.55V silver oxide)

The S600A fits seamlessly into mid-to-large watch cases and is compatible with both circular and integrated case layouts.
The S600A typically uses a crown for analog setting and four pushers for digital function control.
Pull out to set analog time (hour and minute). Analog and digital times operate independently.
Button A (Top Left): Mode selector — cycles through Time, Chronograph, Timer, Alarm, Dual Time, and Calendar.
Button B (Top Right): Start/Stop (Chronograph); Increment value during setting.
Button C (Bottom Left): Reset (Chrono/Timer) or activate backlight.
Button D (Bottom Right): Enter setting mode; toggle 12/24-hour format.
Use only SR927W battery for optimal performance.
Perform an AC reset after battery installation: locate the AC contact point and bridge it to the battery’s edge using fine tweezers or a conductive tool.
Confirm the digital display initializes properly, and test alarm sound and backlight functionality.
Adjust using the crown. If analog and digital times are out of sync, they must be set independently.
Check for full LCD segment visibility after reset.
If the display shows missing segments or fade-out, consider full movement replacement (LCD is not individually serviceable).
Replace all gaskets (caseback, pushers, crown) upon opening.
Apply silicone grease and pressure-test the case, especially if rated for water resistance.
Blank Display After Battery Change: Typically due to skipping the AC reset—this is required to activate the quartz circuit.
Backlight Failure: May be caused by depleted battery or aged EL panel (not user-serviceable).
Analog Hands Not Moving: Can result from hand misalignment, gear jamming, or low battery.
Sticky Buttons or Inactive Modes: Caused by debris, corrosion, or worn pusher springs—clean or replace components as needed.
Unintended Alarm Sounding: Ensure alarm is toggled off through digital interface when not in use.
The Seiko S600A is a top-tier analog-digital movement offering precision, durability, and flexibility in a single compact module. Designed for watches that serve professionals and enthusiasts in demanding roles, it combines Seiko’s signature quartz accuracy with a full suite of timing tools. Its design allows for independent analog/digital operation, making it ideal for dual time zone travelers, field operators, or everyday users who want more than just the time on their wrist.
